Kenneth A. Burke, age 74 of Westerville, previously of Upper Arlington, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Ken was born and raised in the old southeast side of Cleveland, (Little Warsaw) and graduated from St. Stanislaus High School. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Burke and brother, Don Burke. Ken graduated from Bowling Green State University and while there played football and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. Following college Ken went to the NFL and played for the Green Bay Packers, he was a fan of the Upper Arlington youth and high school football programs. Later, he led a successful career in the advertising industry. Ken was a man with a bigger than life personality. He was charming, social, creative and intelligent. He was a current member of the BGSU Falcon’s Club and NFL Alumni. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, hunting, traveling to tropical destinations, and cheering along the sidelines as he watched his grandchildren participate in sports. Most of all however, Ken was the epitome of man devoted to his family. Spending time together with them was what gave him the most joy in life. He will be greatly missed by loving wife of 49 years, Karen Burke; children, Allison (Monroe Nelson) Burke and Aric (Vicki) Burke; grandchildren, Ryan and Ethan Burke and Sydney Burke Nelson; brother, Allan (Joan) Burke; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Columbus, OH, where family will receive friends Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 4pm-8pm. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
