Katherine Jane "Katie" Lorenz Haddox

Katherine Jane “Katie” Lorenz Haddox, age 94, of Dublin, OH, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, James F. Lorenz (Jim) and Ruth M. Lorenz; brother, Jim Lorenz, Jr.; and grandson, Philip Todd Sullivan. She is survived by her children, Deborah Kay Sullivan (Timothy) and Philip John Fulton (Mary Jo) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Ross Ryan Fulton (Laura), Travis John Fulton and Chelsea Jane Rubin (Lanny); great-grandchildren, Beau and Knox Fulton, Margot and Charles Fulton, Jordan and Cooper Rubin; sisters, Ruth Eichenberger and Joan Parsons of Columbus, Ohio; many well loved nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of dear friends in all parts of the USA.

Katie graduated from Columbus West High School and The Ohio State University, BSc, majoring in Spanish, Latin and English. After substituting 4 years in the Columbus Public Schools, she was employed by the Upper Arlington Schools, until receiving her MA degree in the Educational Administration from OSU. Katie was then appointed as the first Director of Student Activities at Upper Arlington High School, where she served until 1973.

Katie traveled extensively, fulfilling a lifelong dream to “go everywhere and see everything”, touring all seven continents and almost every country of the world.

She was a member of the First Community Church, Lifetime OSU Alumni Associate, Lifetime West High Alumni Club Buckeye Boosters, Eta Sigma Phi- National Classic Language honorary, National Association of University Women, Columbus Art Gallery and Wexner Center.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 30, 2024 at First Community Church-South Campus, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Private graveside will be held at Union Cemetery.
