Karen Lynn Brown, 65, of Lancaster, passed away on October 27, 2021. She was born in Columbus, Georgia on January 25, 1956 to James and Nona (Ingledew) Gibson. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Gibson; daughter, Erica Smith; and granddaughter, Makayla Hogue.
Karen grew up in Lucasville, Ohio where she attended Valley High School. After high school she worked as a Risk Management Specialist for Kroger. Later she became a Retail Data Collector for Crossmark. Karen enjoyed summer days by the pool with friends and loved ones, vacationing at the beach with her family, and supporting her grandchildren's events. Karen had a sincere appreciation for sporty vehicles. She loved cruising the streets to loud music with an open sunroof on a freshly detailed car. Everyone loved her Christmas cut-out cookies and black cherry Kool-Aid! Karen brought comfort and laughter to anyone in her presence! She was the joy of any gathering. She left this world as she lived it by putting others first.
In addition to the many nieces, nephews and in-laws, Karen will be greatly missed by her Husband of thirty-five years, Michael A. Brown; siblings, Sharon Reinhardt and Sandy (James) McArdle; children, Julie (Christopher) Rush, Greg (Carrie) Brown, Jeff (Christina) Brown, Tony (Amber) Brown, and Daniel (Joey Lynn) Smith; and grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Tori, Trevor, Morgan, Dominic, Lilah, Jersey, Jaxie, Jacob, and Jayden.
A service celebrating Karen's life will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. The family will receive friends there from 1pm until the start of the service at 3pm.
