Judith “Judy” Marie Bintz-Doll, 83, of Portsmouth, Ohio passed away on March 17th, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late John Sr. and Marion (Little) Bintz on May 7th, 1939. She grew up in Zanesville, Ohio with her two brothers (Jack Jr. and Dan Bintz) and two sisters (Candy and Cheryl “Cheri” Bintz). She graduated from Zanesville High School in 1957. Judy spent summers in Erie with her grandparents, Albert and Theresa (Dundon) Little, who she adored.
Judy’s children from her marriage (1960-1974) to Jack Doll, Erin, Eric, Andrew "Andy", Amanda “Amy”, Adam and Arthur ‘Art”, her 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren brought her a tremendous amount of joy. She lived for her family and it shined through with all of the traditions she began as Grandma Turtle (GT) at annual Summer Spectaculars and cherished Thanksgivings together.
Judy’s spirituality (she had a daily practice as an Eckist) and love of education led her to a passion for starting and running children’s peace and child development programs in addition to community work with youth. Her desire to gain more knowledge in these areas led her to earn her bachelor's degree in 2000 from Shawnee State University and then her master’s degree in Peace and Curriculum Development from Juame I University, in Castellon, Spain at the age of 62.
Up until her passing Judy consistently led a very active life. Training for and competing in Senior Olympics and senior triathlons motivated a daily workout routine including swimming, cycling, and walking. Judy’s training kept her agile, spunky, and independent.
Judy is survived and will be missed by her children Eric Doll, Andrew Doll, Amanda Kosiorek (Darryl), Adam Doll (Dawn) and Arthur Doll (Holly). Forever cherished by grandchildren Megan Duffey (Bonanni), Britney Edwards (Chris), Nicholas Wooten (Bobbie), Hope Doll, Reanna Doll, Drew Doll, Sage Kosiorek, Crew Kosiorek, Jace Kosiorek, Rome Kosiorek, Riley Doll, Caden Doll, Chase Doll (Robin), Zoe Doll, and Bailey Rowe. Her memory will also live on with her great grandchildren Antonio, Tristan, Estella, Kameron, Mason, Tucker, Hayes, Maren, Aiyana, Shayleia, Darius, Julian, Xzaria, Xzavior Jr., Cainan, and Jax. Judy will be remembered and deeply missed by her sister Candy Foehl (Richard), brother Dan Bintz (Melanie) and all her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
