Joyce Ann Ridenour, 71, of Hilliard, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born July 17, 1939 in Portsmouth, OH and was a 1957 graduate of East High School.
Joyce was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon. The oldest of seven, Joyce was a natural caretaker and always concerned about others. She had a great sense of humor, a beautiful soul, was a delight to be around and liked to dress well. Joyce was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. She and Jerry made dozens of Christmas cookies every year and she cherished every moment with her family.
Preceded in death by her father, Harlan Neal, Sr. Joyce will be missed by her best friend and loving husband of 29 years, Jerry; children, Evan Behrendt, Jr., Annette Kullberg, Geof (Barb) Ridenour, and Michele Ridenour; grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Wade, Evan W. and Erik Behrendt, Allison and Andrea Kullberg, Chloe Behrendt, Nicole Ridenour, and Chris James; great-grandchildren, Sheridan Wade and Shianne Hall; dear mother, Lillian Neal; siblings, Delores (James) Taylor, Karen (Thomas) Bentz, Brenda (Jerry) Watson, Judy (Dave) McConnell, Harlan Neal, Jr., and Connie Neal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive Friday, July 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., Rev. Collin Adams, officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery.
