Joy was a real force of nature who took great pride in her care for others. I first met Joy in the early 70's we both worked @ a Nsg. Home in Grove City. Susan I still remember the morning your Dad woke us up to tell us that you had arrived.
They were both so happy when you & Tim were born. Joy & I shared many good times working together in several different places, she will be missed , but remembered by many. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.  Mary Anne Miklosik

I'm so sorry for your loss.
It was such a pleasure working with your mother. She was one of the most caring people that I have ever worked with. She really cared for all of her patients and her co-workers as well.
I am truly thankful that I knew her.
Rest assured, her old gaitbelt that she gave me, will be put to good use.

Joy will be truly missed on 7 West Inpatient Rehab. It has been an honor to work beside her not only on the Rehab floor but also in Stroke Support Group. My thoughts and prayers are with Tim and Susan. She has always spoke highly of you both and always willing to share stories of her grandchildren.

Joy will be missed by everyone she met at Mt Carmel-patients and staff alike,she was such a fun person, full of enthusiasm and always willing to help.I knew her through our work with the stroke support group, what fun we had there!She had no time for 
saying no, she would always make it work somehow!
It was a privilege for me to know her.

As I think of Joy, I see her between ages 20-22 or 23. She would be shuffling down the hall with her bath bucket, heading to the shower around 8-9 PM at  the nursing dorm. She was very responsible in getting her work done early and well.  Although young, she was calm and  straight-forward in her behavior and communication. She was in a committed relationship with her beau and very focused on life goals.  She often spoke fondly of her family and shared little great stories about her children or grandchildren. They were always her first priority. 

At the end of her life, I got an opportunity to work in the same hospital with Joy again. I observed her  delivering the same excellent care to patients, as she had done while we were in school forty plus years earlier. Joy put the patient first and wanted others to do the same. She articulated this, even if her opinion was not popular. That made her all the more special.  She traveled with Holzer Grads on vacations and  will be greatly missed. She the first of our close group to arrive in heaven.  In August, I told her that she is just going to get there a little before the remainder us and will be there to greet us in a few short years. 

Tim and Susan, Joy praised your lives and said wonderful things about you. I feel I know you, even though we have not met. My prayers are with you.

Joy was my rock and she helped me through many difficult time.  She would help me to know when to be quiet.  She helped so many patients and families by listening and teaching the skills needed to take their loved one home.  She will be missed and remembered by those of us that knew her.  She was such an inspiration on the rehab team at Mt. Carmel.  You may be gone but never forgotten.  Jean
