Joseph Samuel Piccione, age 80, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dianne Piccione; parents James and Rose Marie (Gerardi) Piccione.
Joe is survived by his brother James Piccione and children, Denise (Harvey) Ford, Lisa (Jeremiah) Schauer, Jeff (Kathy) Piccione, John (Jennifer) Piccione, Annie (Bronson) Jones; grandchildren, Allison (Danny) Samson and James (fiancé Liz) Ford, Joseph Hoskins, Noel (Aaron) Franke, Matthew Hoskins, Ryan Jones, Tony Piccione; great-grandsons, Marcus, Elliot and Sawyer Franke, Owen and Andrew Hoskins, Bronson Samson and Emerson Ford. Very dear friends and travel companions, Howard and Mary Lou Wilson; many other friends and colleagues and faithful canine companion Rose Marie.
Joe was a graduate of South High School and played trumpet in the band. Among his many talents, Joe was a printer, commercial artist and photographer and during his expansive career held the titles of General Manager Pfeifer Printing, CEO National Graphics, Vice President Gage Food Products and Purchasing Standards Analyst for the State Ohio. In addition, he was a Navy Veteran, 32nd Degree Mason-Westgate Lodge 623, member of the Agonis Club and Scottish Rite, active in Charity Newsies, past President and Board Member Printing Industry of Ohio, past board member of the American Italian Golf Association of Columbus and the Columbus Italian Club, Ducks Unlimited Board Member, Charter Member Fishing Hall of Fame, life member of NRA and Ohio Gun Collector Association.
He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman and enjoyed his annual hunting trips with his sons, family and friends and for 40+ years enjoyed vacationing with his family and musky fishing on the Chippewa Flowage in Hayward, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City where funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Alton Cemetery.
