John Richard Wherry

John R. Wherry Sr., age 71 of Dublin OH, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2015 at home with family. He was born April 10, 1944 to Robert J. Wherry Sr. and Carrie M. (Blair) Wherry. John grew up in the Arlington area and graduated from Upper Arlington High School 1962. He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Carrie Jean Waters. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Patricia A. Wherry; sister, Gloria Kinnaird; brother, Robert J. Wherry Jr. (Barbara); brother-in-law, Lawrence Waters; four sons, John R. Jr.(JoAnn), David J. (Jennifer), Donald R. (Karen) and Mark T.; his eleven grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. John's love for life was evident in his well-known sense of humor, his easy mischievous laugh, contagious smile and in the care and joy he demonstrated in his work and play. Despite his years of struggling with Parkinsons, John never complained or lost focus on the meaningful things in life. His passions included family, friends, birding, baseball, golf, playing cards, especially Bridge and Ohio State athletics. John was president of Wherry Agency, Inc. for over 30 years where he was a financial planner, assisting others to be financially secure throughout all phases of life. He held the designations of CLU, ChFC, LUTCF as a licensed General Agent. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 am Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1735 Bethel Rd., Columbus OH 43220 at the corner of Bethel and Reed Roads.
