John Henry Ward

John H. Ward, age 80, of Groveport, Ohio, died Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born February 10, 1943 in Kermit, WV, son of the late Edgar and Ina (Hunt) Ward. John was a retired baker with The Kroger Company following many years of service. He will be greatly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Russ and Catherine Ward; grandsons, Garrett Jorden, Dalton Jorden and Jacob Jorden; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bush Ward; daughter Karla K. Jorden and two sisters, Melissa McCulley and Marie Willie. Veteran U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He was a life member of VFW Post 9473. John loved to go fishing with his grandsons at Buckeye Lake and traveling with friends, especially on cruises and to Las Vegas. He always put his family first and enjoyed rooting for the Cleveland Browns. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, October 14, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where family will receive friends after 9:30 am Saturday until time of service. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
