

John Robert Thomas, age 75, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Friday, April 27, 2018 with his wife Marylou Thomas at his side. John was born in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Byron and Jean (O'Neal) Thomas. He is survived by his wife; sons, Jim (Pam) Thomas and Rob (Jennie) Thomas; grandchildren Emma Jean, Charlotte, Skylar, Gabe and John Robert; He is preceded in death by his younger brother Mike and survived by his three brothers Tim, Pat and Terry. He graduated from Springfield High School, Ohio State and Ohio State Law school. 'Red' began playing tennis in Springfield and went on to play at OSU. He was active in the Columbus tennis community playing and coaching. He was a long-time partner of Kegler Brown Hill + Ritter where he practiced securities and corporate law. He became an avid golfer and runner. With his wife he spent time watching and supporting OSU sports. He passed away from cancer having lived with Parkinson's disease for the past 18 years. Although Parkinson's slowed him down he still enjoyed spending time with his sons and their families. His wife and two boys could not have had a better or more loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends from 1-4pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221 (Please dress casual).
