John Charles Rhyan, “The Old B. P. Man”, age 63, of Columbus, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from British Petroleum (BP) having been the longtime manager of the station at 5th and Nelson. He is preceded in death by his son, Chris; parents, Russell and Ruth; and brother, Bob. He is survived by his children, Kimberly and Edward (Amanda) Rhyan; siblings, Casey and Cliff Rhyan, Mary Carpenter, Les and Jerry Rhyan, and Jane (Rick) Stacey; five grandchildren; many special nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Hope & Heart Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 2741 Cleveland Avenue.
