John A. Dodd Sr.

Graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Columbus, Class of 1952. Graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Class of 1956, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Founder and CEO of Employers Administrative Services Company and Dodd Brokerage Insurance Firm. Past chairman and member of Saint Ann’s Hospital Board of Trustees for 25 years. Member Emeritus of Mount Carmel Health Board of Trustees Foundation. He served in the United States Army Reserve 1956 through 1961. Former member of the Columbus Country Club. Past President of Columbus Notre Dame Alumnae Club.

Preceded in death by parents and brothers Thomas J. (Marsha) Dodd and James R. (Lynda) Dodd.

Survivors include loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Huling Dodd; children John A. (Debbie) Dodd, Jr., Stephen H. (Kathleen) Dodd, Christopher B. Dodd, Cynthia (Stephen) Weimar all of Columbus and Jeffrey D. (Kristen) Dodd of Bay Village, Ohio; grandchildren: Jessica, Mitchell and Daniel Dodd, Kelley (Steven) Prince, Tyler Dodd, Emily Dodd, Chelsea (Jimmy) Poole, Megan and Michael (Cayla) Weimar, Jacob and Grady Dodd; brother Michael F. Dodd; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Diabetic Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 in his memory would be greatly appreciated or to a charity of one’s choice.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 27, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN, 229 East State St., Columbus, Ohio 43221 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 4383 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213.
