John J. Brown III, passed away peacefully at home the morning of November 9, 2017, at the age of 39 years old. A native of Columbus, Ohio, John is a proud alumnus of both Bishop Hartley High School and Ohio University. John was so fond of his Athens experience that he and his wife, Jennifer (Evans) Brown, chose to exchange marital vows in the college town where they met and began their life together.
In addition to Jennifer, John's wife of 9 years, he is survived by three sons, John ("Johnny"), Joseph ("Joey"), and James ("Jimmy"), ages 7, 5, and 3. He is also survived by his father, John (Cheryl) Brown Jr., mother, Sandy Sumner, as well as siblings and countless friends from all stages of life. John was preceded in death by grandparents and other relatives. A devoted husband and father, John's presence in his boys' lives is what filled his every day to the very end.
With nothing ever handed to him, John surpassed the odds and after graduating high school and college, became a certified public accountant and dedicated and well-respected professional at Deloitte where he grew both clients and friendships for more than 16 years. John was committed to his Catholic faith and an active member of St. Matthew Church in Gahanna, where he served on boards for both the church and school.
