Jerry Owen Watkins

Jerry Owen Watkins, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024. Born on March 18, 1952, in Marysville, Ohio, Jerry was known for his loving heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering commitment to serving others.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Cynthia Watkins; his four sons, Mike Watkins (Karen), Jack Watkins, Scott Watkins (Tara), and Keith Watkins (Rebecca); and his cherished grandchildren, Abigail White (Reece), Alex Watkins, Austin Watkins (Summer), Aaron Watkins, Alyssa Watkins, Jesse Watkins, Eli Watkins, Jenna Watkins, and Simon Watkins. He is also survived by his sister, Joellen Brula, and his brother, John Watkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donn and Gertrude Watkins, and his brother, Jim Watkins.

Jerry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa.” He was deeply involved in his church, serving in countless volunteer roles and leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. Known affectionately by many as “Uncle Jerry,” he embodied kindness, generosity, and a servant’s heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 11th, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Radiant Life Church, 7100 Post Road, Dublin, Ohio, 43017.

Jerry’s legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
