Janice "Jan" Lensing, age 80, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Janice was born on January 31, 1940, in Bremer, IA, to Emil and Bernita Heine. She was one of four children. She attended the University of Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Chuck. She married him on August 29, 1960. She worked for A and S Curtain Shops and Zieg Realty as a bookkeeper. She was an avid singer and part of the Sweet Adelines Capital Showcase Chorus in Central Ohio. She retired in 2002 and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, singing, volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, watching old movies, and her weekly hair appointments. She was a 50-year member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and Daughters of Mary in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her five children, Judy Lensing, Debbie (Dave) Pryor-Trent, Patsy (Wayne) Starcher, Tony (Deb) Lensing, and Becky (Tony) Hartley; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Sandra Kae Heine; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, and her two brothers, Burnett George Heine and Roger Dale Heine. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232. Private entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E.
