Jane Moreton McKibben-Saliaris

Jane Moreton McKibben Saliaris, born March 7, 1936, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 after a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. Jane’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her four children: Deborah Bucci, Daniel (and Deborah) Saliaris, David Saliaris, and Douglas (and Julie)Saliaris. She is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren: Maria Saliaris, Michelle Saliaris, Anthony Bucci, Nicholas Saliaris, Ariana Saliaris, Alexander Saliaris, Blake Saliaris and one great grandchild,Vincent Saliaris. Jane’s love extended to her nieces and nephews Kathleen (Ross) Burggraf, Michael (Carol)McKibben, Carolyn (Rob) Garner, Colleen (Darin) Davis, Rick (Jenny) McKibben, and their children and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. Jane volunteered at Riverside Hospital for 12 years, where she devoted her time and energy to customer service. A renaissance woman, Jane was also a realtor licensed by the Ohio Association of Realtors, a massage therapist certified by the Ohio State Medical Board, and an avid gardener. In all that she did Jane’s passion was to bring beauty into the world. This passion was most fully realized in her deep and long-standing involvement in the hybridizing and breeding of day lilies. She leaves behind many friends in the Metropolitan Columbus Day Lily Society and the Ohio Daylily Society. She owes her growth as a flower breeder to the family that she considers her second family, the James Gossards of Heavenly Gardens, Amity Road in Galloway, Ohio. The family will be pleased to receive friends Friday, November 4, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Mass will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:30 at St Peters Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus. Rev. Joseph Schermer celebrant. Private inurnment at St Joseph Cemetery Columbus, Ohio.
