Jane Adams Gibbs, age 76, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the care of Hospice of Central Ohio at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8, 1940 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Allen “Perk” and Dorothy “Dottie” (Noel) Adams and was also preceded in death by her brother, Allen J. Adams; and grandson, Jonathan Charles “Jack” Gibbs. Jane is survived by her husband of 54 years, Doug Gibbs; children, Melinda Lawrence, Kelly (Darrin) Endicott, Bill (Colleen) Gibbs, and Caroline Gibbs; grandchildren, Andy and Chad Lawrence, Corey, Bradley, Samantha, and Lance Endicott, Alex and Alicia Gibbs, and Hayley Gibbs; great-grandson, Neil Lawrence; and special friend, Shirley Rhymer. Jane moved to Columbus to go to Ohio State School of Cosmetology where she graduated as a Hair Stylist. She worked in several salons before establishing her own salon at home. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived for her family. Jane’s passion was for the United Methodist Children’s Home Family Services which she served and supported through collecting thousands of dollars of much needed supplies and gift cards for the children. She will be greatly missed. Her family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Stonybrook United Methodist Church, 485 Cherry Bottom Road, Gahanna where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Robert L. Thomas, Pastor and Nicole R. Baker, Pastor. Inurnment Mifflin Cemetery. Contributions in Jane’s honor may be made to Stonybrook United Methodist Church or to United Methodist Children’s Home Family Services, 1033 High St. Worthington, OH 43085.
