James William Broskie, age 89, of Columbus, Ohio passed away May 14, 2021, at Grant Medical Center. He was born November 13, 1931, in West Frankfort, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Faye (McFadden) Broskie; parents, Frank and Esther (Malott) Broskie; brothers, Frank Jr and Robert Broskie; and grandson, Justin Michael. He is survived by son, Timothy; wife Elizabeth (Odell) Broskie; grandsons, Logan, Mitchell, and Brady; daughter, Tamara and family; granddaughters, Victoria and Isabella; brothers, Harold and Jack Broskie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in laws. He graduated from Thompsonville High School in Thompsonville, Illinois, class of 1949. James was known as a hard worker, his first job was working for his Uncle Pete and his favorite was working at Yadro Auto Parts in West Frankfort, Illinois. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and was in the reserves for the following four years. He was also the proud owner of Mock and Woodland Marathon and A & A Service Center in Linden (Columbus, Ohio) for many years. He also owned various rental properties throughout Columbus during his lifetime and was known to be a friendly landlord to his tenants. He was known as Jim by various friends and family.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 11:45am at Riverside Cemetery, 3840 Sunbury Rd, Columbus, OH 43219. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his favorite nonprofit charity, Boys Town, via their website or at the following address:
