Isiah Thomas

Isiah Thomas was born April 27, 1935 to the late Ruffin and Mary Thomas in Moundville, Alabama. He joined St. Luke A.M.E. Church at an early age. Isiah married Gracie Thomas on February 23, 1965 and from this union five sons were born. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Isiah was preceded in death by his parents, Ruffin and Mary Thomas; sisters, Jennie Cottrell, Geneva Vanhorn; brothers, William and James Thomas; son, Gregory Thomas; and his lovely wife, Gracie L. Thomas.

Heaven is rejoicing; Isiah was called to Glory on Friday, July 12, 2019. He leaves to cherish his life and memories, sons, Isiah Thomas, Jr., Darrell Thomas, Antonio Thomas, and Dale Thomas; grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Rayshawn Rogers, and Amarre Dixon; great grandchild, Sarai Brown; siblings, Sister Lillian Whitt of Tuscaloosa, AL, Sister Clara Williams of Columbus, OH, and Arnold Thomas of Tuscaloosa, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 11:00am to 12 Noon Friday, July 19, 2019 at Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where a funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Friday, July 19, 2019; interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
