Isabel Buckley died peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Friday, November 25th at the age of 88 surrounded by her family. Ibby is survived by her husband Edwin “Ned” Buckley of Columbus, OH; daughters Judith “Judy” Nicholson (Mark) of Columbus, OH and Susanne Buckley (Julia) of Columbus, OH; sons Mark Buckley (JoAnne) of Archdale, NC and Eric Buckley of Cary, NC; sister Lois Hancock of Irwin, PA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her parents, Chester and Isabel Sensenich of Irwin, PA and her son Scott Buckley of Seminole, FL, precede her in death. Ibby was born on July 3rd 1928 to Chester and Isabel. She fell in love with Ned while jitterbugging, married in 1949 and swiftly began a family of 5 children. Ibby was the life of the party and was never hesitant with a hug for anyone, even a stranger. Her love of people and concern for others were her calling cards. She and her husband of 67 years traveled the country in their RV, boated many years on Lake Erie, and enjoyed winters in Key Largo. But her favorite activity was always being with family and friends. All those who knew her will remember her as a kind and gentle woman with an effervescent smile and laugh. Ibby was an accomplished pianist and avid reader with a sharp, witty attention to the world around her. She was an active member of the Medina United Methodist Church, and proudly professed her faith in Jesus Christ. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 2nd at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:30 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus OH 43221. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ibby’s life. Flowers are welcome, but donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital are also appreciated. The family would like to thank the wonderful people of The Forum where Ibby lived, and Riverside Methodist Hospital where she was given compassionate care.To share memories or condolences, please visit www.schoedinger.com.
