Irene Adeline Gillenwater, age 92, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1933 in Lincoln County, WV to the late Frank and Myrtle (Toney) Ferrell. Irene retired from ATT&T after 25 years of service, and she was a member of Fishinger and Kenny Church of Christ. Irene enjoyed bowling, crocheting, quilting, and traveling especially to Myrtle Beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Odell Gillenwater. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judith (Michael) Koch; son, Michael (Gina) Gillenwater; grandchildren, Jeremy (Christina) Koch, Chad (Kimberly) Gillenwater, Jennifer Gillenwater (Jay), and Emily Gillenwater; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cairo, Nicholas, Marco, and Amira. Private family services will be observed. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger East and Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
