Lit a candle in memory of Helen Louise Kiser

There was more that I would have liked to say today, but I was doing good to say what little I did. I remember when mom and dad got divorced, Sissy started babysitting my sister and me. She took care of us as if we were her own children. I remember there was always tons of family around which made for some pretty fun times. Sissy and my mom showed me how coparenting should look.. there wasn’t the competition and animosity that you see a lot between bio and step parents, they loved and accepted each other and worked together to give my sister and me not 1 but 2 loving homes. Even after her and my dad split up, Sissy was still very much a part of the family. I will always regret not visiting more over the years.. but I carry my memories in my heart. Like I said earlier, family was Sissy’s life! She loved with everything she had and though she is physically gone, she will live on in everyone that she has touched. Especially in the smiles of her greatest joys in life.. Heather, Megan, Aurora and Nova, your mom and grammie will always be there watching and protecting her girls.. you were her whole life, and she will live on through you. I love you all and thank you so much for accepting us as family all these years. I hope you know how much it has meant to me to be a part of your amazing family.

Sissy treated me like family. She opened up her home and shared it generously.
Her legacy will continue for generations to come. 
Sissy keep our old group together, so we all can join the eternal card games someday!

Helen was a wonderful person, kind and generous and always willing to assist her co-workers.  She will be missed, yet remembered fondly.  Helen, may you rest in peace and fly on the wings of the angels until you greet your loved ones again.

Helen was so kind to everyone.  I remember many soccer games we attended with our daughters...
Honestly,  Helen was an amazing mom and friend to all.  I know this will be hard for everyone, but we will always keep her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences go out to Helen's whole family!
   I can remember the first time I got to meet the girls mom. I had drove them home from our house one day, if I recall to get their swimsuits . I can remember Heather telling me her mom wanted to meet me!
  So I politely went inside only t meet one of the sweetest women. Helen was so nice,she made me fix a plate of dinner while I waited on the girls n my brother. 
  Also trying to talk me into coming back sometime to play cards.

There are so many memories of us over the years it's hard to just pin point one. We shared school,marriage, children, and traveling. It is so hard knowing we will say our final goodbyes today, but it is only a temporary goodbye until we meet again know that I love you.

I don't know what to say, other than Sissy, you were the rock of your family.  You will be missed beyond words by all who knew and loved you.  I will miss our get togethers with you and Terri, having a drink and just catching up while I was visiting family in Ohio.  You were a beautiful soul and I know I will miss those times. Oh Helen, how I will miss our talks and seeing how your face lights up when you would laugh. I was looking for an old email and I found one from you with a picture of your first granddaughter.  You wrote to me that you loved being a mother, but couldn't explain how wonderful it was to be a grandmother.  There are too many memories over the years that make me smile...another was putting yourself on Do Not Disturb so you could order your Pink Floyd tickets. My deepest sympathies go out to your daughters, granddaughters, family and friends.  You will be deeply missed

Sissy seemed to me to have a great inner strength and serenity that showed in everything she did. We were not friends that hung out all the time but through mutual friends and our children our lives became intertwined. I will be forever in her debt for taking on the role of second mother to my daughters. I will always feel a bond to her girls and hope I can in a small way help them through their loss.

Sena and family purchased the Arrive in Style for the family of Helen Kiser.

I remember her as being kind. I loved watching her at parties, she always had so much fun. I recall Kari’s wedding, where she had a blast! Great memories.

One thing that I admired about Helen was the strong bond and loving relationship she had with her daughters. It was so sweet to hear her on the phone talking to Heather and Megan. The calls always ended with, “I love you honey”. If I was having a hard day at work, just hearing those words would lift my spirits. She was my go-to girl when I needed advice on raising my teenager. She always reassured me that things would get better…and they always did. 

We also shared a passion for flowers. Every spring we would discuss how our perennials did the year before or new annuals we would like to try. Throughout the year we would text each other pictures of fresh cut flowers from our gardens.

Helen will sincerely be missed.

I always had fun at the Parker family reunions growing up, and Aunt Sissy was a big part of that. I always enjoyed playing bingo with her and everybody else. I can’t believe she’s gone now. The world is a less happier place without her. My heart goes out to all of you.

I have sooo many great memories of Helen, from when I was in middle school with Megan. She was such an amazing person who raised such wonderful daughters! I am so saddened over her loss.

It feels like we are missing a piece to the puzzle. There are too many good memories to pick just one but we will never forget all of the family get togethers and how Aunt Sissy had a knack for being the life of the party without even trying. She was always one of the first ones there and one of the last ones to leave. She often called me by first and middle name, always using a incorrect and different middle name every time. Whatever she felt like using that day was what I was being called by the rest of the night. Sarah Jane and Sarah Sue seemed to be the most popular. I always answered so it seemed to work.

There is nothing she loved more than her daughters and her granddaughters. They will always be her pride and joy. Megan, Heather, Brandon, Brent, Aurora, and Nova - sending you all lots of love and hugs.

Fall 1997, it was the first time I spent the night at Heather and Megan’s house. And from the moment I walked into the door, I can remember Helen being nothing but warm and welcoming. I don’t think there was ever a time that she didn’t greet me with a smile, say “why hello Jenn” and followed up with a big hug. It didn’t take long but Helen became like a second mother to me, I was the honorary Kiser daughter she never saw coming and that never left. She would cheer me on at volleyball, lecture me about boys or even comfort me when sad. She even made sure I had my mashed potatoes on her shopping list each week. And that was just Helen, she was always including and thinking of others needs. Throughout our years in high school and college she helped a lot of our friends in so many ways. Her home was always an open door and she was always happy to help someone in need no matter how short or long of a duration it took to get them back on their feet. 
Now looking back, I can’t honestly pick a favorite memory, there’s just so many. Chi-Chi’s, her calling us from Vegas on NYE, attempting to explain the guy in the red coat, waking up to dozens of reflectors in her garage, or how about the time she actually realized we got into the TP stash, I mean how could anyone, it was a giant stash and the children of 2020 will never understand the freedom on being able to toilet paper houses around the neighborhood. 
Helen, you we’re a beautiful person, a considerate and kind soul and I will sincerely miss your infectious laugh and bright smile. Thank you for some of the best years and two of my favorite people in this world. Always in my heart

Helen was always a pleasure to be around and to work with. Funny and quick-witted, she could always lighten up a room. I will miss the in-between moments, her gushing about her beautiful granddaughters and her kids, and the stories she loved to tell about her newest experiences with them. Helen's patience and willingness to share with her teammates was admirable.  I will miss sharing stories and having a good laugh with her.  She is leaving us way too soon.
