Haden Richard DeRoberts, age 24, died Sunday, December 4, at Kobacker House, surrounded by dozens of friends and family, after a 5 year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and subsequent complications. Graduated from Grandview Heights High School in 2011, and worked tirelessly to earn his Bachelor of Specialized Studies last week from Ohio University. He was the curator of music festivals focused on bringing awareness to bone marrow donation registration and increased visibility to local bands. He interned at Love Hope Strength Foundation and Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville, OH, and was a camp counselor at Camp Akita. He loved sheep herding, taxidermy, and was an avid outdoorsman and consummate supporter of the arts and the DIY music scene. Preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Margaret Newberry, and Darlene DeRoberts. Survived by father Jeff and mother Janet DeRoberts; brother Jack; grandfather Dick DeRoberts; numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Celebration of life will start at 3pm Saturday, December 10, at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. and continue afterwards at Woodlands Backyard, 668 Grandview Ave. to whom the family wishes to express gratitude for their continued generosity.
