Gregory W. Carter, age 46 of Upper Arlington, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019. Greg was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, son of Ronald and Judy Carter. Greg graduated from Upper Arlington High School, Class of 1991 and while there participated in the Academic Decathlon, Aviation Club, wrestling and football team. Following high school Greg attended Columbus State and graduated from DeVry where he earned a business degree. Greg married his high school sweetheart Wendy, and the two of them started a family and began their lives together. Anyone who knew Greg, knew about his passion for comic books! He loved reading comics, sharing comics, talking about his favorite hero Booster Gold, and even was the co-host of the podcast at Packrat Comics. Greg made friends and shared jokes anywhere he went. He was personable, kind, joyful, and most of all, WITTY. This past year, Greg decided to devote some of his time to comedy, even performing at The Funny Bone. In addition to his parents, Greg will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 28 years, Wendy Carter; children, Jonathan (Carlin Gilroy) Carter and Ashley (Dominick Del Tosto) Carter; brother, Christopher (Stephanie) Carter; niece and nephew, Abby and Sam Carter; extended family, Jenna Kilbourne and Stephen Buhrts; beloved cat, Han Solo; and a host of dear friends. Family will receive friends from 3-7 P.M. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family requests all visitors please bring a comic book which they will donate to assist with children's literacy. Private family funeral services will be held at a later date.
