She was born July 22, 1930 in Willoughby, Ohio. Gloria was a 1948 graduate of North H.S. where she was a member of the Arrow Sorority, and attended OSU. For a short time, she worked for the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, but worked the majority of her career in the Dept. of Accounting at OSU, now the Fisher College of Business, retiring in 1990. Gloria volunteered at the Orange desk at Riverside Methodist Hospital for 14 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Messiah in Westerville and had a strong Christian Faith. Gloria’s life revolved around her family. Attending her boy’s and grandchildren’s activities and preparing meals for holidays were amongst her most precious memories. She had an incredible will, lots of energy, and loved to help others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Helen Berry; and sister, Marjorie Berry King. Gloria will be missed by her husband of 57 years, Thomas E. Irwin; “Her Boys”, Barry (Jennifer) Irwin, Todd (Marie) Irwin, and Kent (Laura) Irwin; grandchildren, Lauren (7) Hoerath, Katelan (Eric) Bransteter, Kelleigh (Drew) Fagan, Caroline Irwin, Colleen (Eric) Lindhurst, and Jay Irwin; great-grandchildren, Crusoe and Lucas; brother, Roland Raymond (Patsy) Berry; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, December 21, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270). A private family memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
