Gerald N. Goldberg, age 78, passed away on February 2, at Glenwood Alzheimer's Special Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Charlotte Goldberg. Survived by wife, Kathy Julian Goldberg; sister, Sheila Zalkind of Denver, CO; sisters-in-law Jeanne Julian (Tim Murphy), and Connie Gickman, of Virginia Beach, VA.; niece Alison Rademacher, of Denver, CO; nephew Lee Rosenbaum of Vancouver, BC; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He graduated from Canton McKinley High School; earned a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Michigan where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He went on to earn a masters in Metallurgical Engineering from The Ohio State University. He was an Advanced Systems Engineer with I.B.M., then owned his own business, Professional Data Systems. Later he was the Health Information Specialist for Mount Carmel Hospital Outreach. Gerry loved skiing, especially out West, and was an avid boater. He was President of the Columbus Ski Club, served as Commodore of the Scioto Boat Club, and was a member of the Four Seasons Yacht Club of Cincinnati. He loved working in his workshop and could fix almost anything. Memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Monday, February 12th, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, 43221. Following a brief service there will be a reception and visitation until 6:30 PM. The family would like to thank the caring staff at ViaQuest Hospice for their wonderful care.
