Gerald "Jerry" Ballard

Gerald “Jerry” Ballard, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Jerry was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 19, 1941 to the late E.E. and Wanda (Stoner) Ballard. Also preceded in death by his daughter Ginger Ellen Ballard; and brother Dick Ballard. Jerry was a graduate of Teays Valley High School. While attending Teays Valley he was very active with 4H-Club and won many awards for showing cattle at local fairs. After high school he continued his education at The Ohio State School of Cosmetology, where after graduation he taught classes in styling and cutting. He owned Jerry’s Hair Salon for over 35 years, working in collaboration with the Kenneth Hair Salon Group. He was a Black Belt in Karate. Jerry enjoyed his family vacations in Hilton Head. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Ellen (Layton) Ballard; and niece Jill (Jim) Partee.
