George “Bo” C. Babcock Jr., age 88, of Obetz, Ohio passed away on Feb. 7, 2023. He was born on Feb. 22, 1934 in Kester, WV to the late George C. and Leora (Hershberger) Babcock Sr. He joins in death his parents; wife Rebecca Jean (Arnold) Babcock; children Steven Babcock, John Babcock, George C. Babcock III and Loralee Corbin; siblings Georgia Cobbs, Neva Jarvis and Leora Gae Moore. George leaves behind his children Wayne (Angela) Kirk, Chuck (Tamara) Kirk, Joyce Kirk, Monica Cline and Lance Babcock; Also surviving are grandchildren John, Josh, Deric, Michael, Maria, Dwayne, Misty, Chris, Jeana, Austin, Dylan, Chyanna, Billie, Brayden and Gavin; 8 great grandchildren and beloved niece and nephew Becky and Foster Jarvis. George was a proud Teamster Union #24 member. He retired from Yellow Freight and attended Southwest Free Will Baptist Church and Judah Tabernacle as well where he loved to attend and worship the Lord. He loved spending time with his friends at the Obetz Senior Center and the Scioto Community Assisted Living apartments. He enjoyed all of the outings and trips he could take with his Scioto Community. George’s proudest accomplishment was being a master tuba player in both the Houston TX symphony as well as the Charleston WV Symphony. George was very athletic and participated in several sports during high school. He had a love for cars and motorcycles. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious giggle and his love for others. There will be a celebration of Life gathering for George “Bo” on Friday Feb. 17, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM with a memorial service starting at 5PM at the Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Schoedinger – Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. The funeral service will be officiated by Matthew Leslie.
