Fred Lee Fillinger, age 65, of Bexley, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on April 17, 1946 in Williamson, WV to Fred and Cora Fillinger. As a young man Fred proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He later started and owned All Star Sports for 25 years. He was a member of the Groveport Lodge # 440, F.&A.M. and Aladdin Shrine Temple. Fred had many interests in life, but truly enjoyed playing golf and softball. He was a fun loving guy who enjoyed joking with his nieces and nephews. Fred cared about people and was loving and very generous. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred; brother William; and sister, Mary Cowans. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Dixie; mother, Cora Holycross; siblings, Freda (John) Raab, Larry, and Sharon (Danny) McCoy; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4-7pm, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A Masonic and funeral service will begin at 7 pm following the calling hours. Pastor Kris Uptegrove officiating.
