Frank Christy

Frank Christy, age 68, passed away on November 29, 2023 in Columbus, OH after a three year battle with cancer. He was born on May 29, 1955 in Salem, Ohio to William “Bill” and Betty Christy (Woods). Frank attended West Branch High School, Class of 1973.

Frank was smart, charming, and opinionated. He loved good conversation, sharing ideas, and debating. Reading was a passion of his from an early age and his knowledge of literature allowed him to connect with people, regardless of their background.

He was introspective, but also loved a good time and made lifelong friends in Sebring through the late ‘60s and early 70s; playing cards, sports, or having a few at the bar.

He loved music. Even in his final months he would always have some blues playing in the background and he made sure to see one last performance by The Numbers Band at The Venice Cafe in Kent.

He was a good friend and a great father, and will be deeply missed by his son Jim (Jessica) Christy; granddaughter Madeleine and siblings Mike (Peggy) Christy, Karen Christy, Pam Grim and Kathy Whitacre. Frank is preceded in death by his siblings Jim Christy and Donnell Christy.

All are invited to celebrate Frank’s life on Saturday, January 20th at the Sebring American Legion from 5:00PM - 10:00PM.
