Frances Trovato Smith, age 66, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Columbus on May 7, 1946, to the late Frank and Eva Mae (Brown) Trovato. After graduating from Bishop Hartley High School, Fran earned a Bachelor’s Degree from College of St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican). She was currently working as a senior system business analyst at Alliance Data where she had forged many wonderful friendships over the past 26 years. Fran was a devoted life partner, mother, and grandmother. She was selfless, hardworking and compassionate. She treasured her grandchildren, and she loved entertaining friends and boating on Buckeye Lake. She was the glue that held her family together, always there with welcoming arms and an encouraging word. She is survived by her lifetime partner and soulmate, Steve Fisher; daughters, Jenny (Miguel) Garcia and Abby (Jeff) Karnes, and their father, Jerry Smith; sisters, Angela Nesmith and Bernie (Bob) Ludwig; grandchildren, Brandon and Ruby Karnes, and Matthew, Joshua, Joseph, and Daniel Garcia; Steve’s children, Eric (Tamara) Fisher (their children, Sully, Ryan and Mason) and Kelli Fisher; 6 nephews, 2 nieces, and countless friends and extended family members. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
