Everett E. Maxwell, age 94 of Columbus died Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was born and raised in Vinton County, Ray, Ohio on a farm. Everett left the country life after High School to join the U.S. Army and served in World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Upon returning to Ohio after his service to our country Everett moved to Columbus, Ohio and went to work for General Motors on the West Side. He lived in New Rome, Ohio with the love of his life Juanita and worked on the West Side at General Motors for many years before retiring. Although never having children, Everett always had a kind heart and soft touch with his nieces and nephews. He loved them very much. Everett was a very honorable man who always had a kind word for others. He enjoyed watching and attending professional baseball games. He knew the statistics for every ball player. He was also fond of rodeos and Wild West shows. He had a keen interest in the history of the Wild West and genealogy. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Fay (Bethel) Maxwell; brother Cloyd Maxwell; and his dear wife Juanita. He is survived by his brothers Elbert W. (Evalee) Maxwell and Henry M. Maxwell; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Visitation will be held 3-5 PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel 3920 Broadway where the funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 7, 2016. Pastor Wayne Beard officiating. Graveside service with Military Honors 1 PM Monday at Londonderry Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Everett’s memory to Hospice of Central Ohio.
