Evelyn Brobeck Groves

Evelyn Brobeck Groves, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2014. She was born November 17, 1923 in Columbus, Ohio and was a retired Kinder Care preschool teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Melvin Groves; parents Gladys and Joe Brobeck; brother, Joseph "Sonny" Brobeck and sister Betty McDaniel. Evelyn is survived by her son, Gary (Wanda) Groves and their children Soni and Owen (Jodi) and their children Jesse and Claudia; daughter Gail Douglas and her children Brian, Tom (Missy) and their children Lauren and Lainey, Charlie (Anita) and their children Audriyana, Natalya and Cameryn; son Greg (Linda) Groves and their children Gregory and Kacie and Kacie's son Blake; sister-in-law Dorothy (Al) Kollmer; many nieces and nephews; and longtime friends Chuck and Wanda Huffer. Family will welcome friends from 11am - 1pm Monday, May 19, 2014 at Schoedinger East Chapel with a procession to Glen Rest Memorial Estate leaving the funeral home at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Charity Newsies, 4300 Indianola Ave., Columbus, OH 43214 in her memory.
