Eugene C. Ricker, age 93 of Dublin, passed away peacefully Friday, October 2, 2015. Gene was born in Holgate, Ohio to the late Magdalena Engle and Carl Ricker. He graduated from Holgate High School, Class of 1940 and went on to attend college at Bowling Green University. Gene proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp as a B-17 pilot, flying in 36 missions over Germany. In 1949, while attending a WMCA dance, he met the love of his life, Gloria White, and the two married in 1950 and went on to start their lives together and raise 3 beautiful daughters. Gene worked for Dennison (Abex) Engineering for 25 years before retiring in 1972. He also worked with Battelle for 10 years. While there, he and another worker experimented and developed the patent which led to the invention of Xerox. Gene also helped develop many other patents that are still used today in Washington D.C. Gene truly enjoyed retirement. Gene and Gloria traveled extensively across the country and throughout Europe, Alaska being his favorite. In 2007 Gene and Gloria moved to Friendship Village of Dublin. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Gloria Ricker; daughters, Lin Ryder, Deb Miller, and Penny Livesay; 2 grandsons; 2 granddaughters, 1 great grandson; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., where family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until time of service. Rev.
