Eugene L. Guay

Eugene L. Guay Jr., age 56, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010. He was born in Columbus on August 9, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of Columbus. Eugene attended Eastmoor High School, and served our country in the US Navy. He was a lifelong member of AMVETS Post 89. He loved people, and he enjoyed sitting on his porch, drinking his coffee, and talking with neighborhood friends. He also enjoyed camping trips with his family, and he was a good and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Connie Guay; father Eugene L. Guay and Sue Conley; children, James (Christina) Jackson, and Kathy Strawser; siblings, Dorothy (Richard) Hoge, and Everett “Jake” (Yma) Guay; 4 grandchildren; good friends, Steve and Sally Meyers; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve Guay. Family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A funeral service will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating.
