Elizabeth Breese “Betty” Webber, age 90, of Upper Arlington, OH entered the nearer presence of her Lord on Monday evening, July 18, 2011. She was born April 13, 1921 in Beverly, Massachusetts to the late William and Leila Macks. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Webber, Jr. Betty was a 1942 graduate of Brown University as well as the University of Rhode Island in 1972. She was a devout Christian woman who was well respected and loved by her church family at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Upper Arlington, where she was the official archivist and registrar for many years. Her interests were numerous and varied widely, from chemistry, to New England lighthouses and churches, with a passion for historic preservation and community outreach. She never passed an historical marker without stopping to take a picture or make a note of it; and she enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experiences with numerous groups as well as her parish family. Her life will be remembered in a celebration of The Holy Eucharist, Rite II on Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2151 Dorset Rd., Columbus, OH 43221, with The Rev. Paul St. Germain presiding and Dr. Michael Murray as organist. A reception will follow in Saint Mark’s Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Outreach Ministries of Saint Mark’s in Betty’s memory. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to share your own personal memory of Betty.
