Lisa Murray loved coffee. And cats. And naps. All sunny days were good days. She loved the music of Joni Mitchell and the novels of Louise Erdrich. And South Park. She did not love High School, but stayed close with friends from that time. She loved the internet -- from cat videos to articles about astrophysics and deep space. She loved audiobooks. She loved Japan, Seattle, WA, and Beaver Island, MI. She loved being with kids, was fond of gin and tonics, and never said No to a homemade cookie.
Lisa attended North Central H.S. in Indianapolis, Indiana. She received her undergrad degree at Indiana University, and a Masters Degree at the University of Michigan. She spoke fluent Japanese, and lived and worked in Kobe, Japan, teaching English. She wrote fantastic letters home.
She lived and worked in Seattle for more than 30 years. While there, she decided to pursue one of her great loves, founding a personal pet-sitting business, Purrvana Cat Sitting, LLC. She had many highly-satisfied customers (cats).
Lisa had recently moved back to the Midwest, to Columbus, Ohio, to be closer to her family. She was a wonderful and inspiring daughter, sister, friend, and relative.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Murray, and brother, James Murray. She will be greatly missed by her mother, Margaret (Mardi) Murray of Sarasota, Florida; siblings Maureen Murray of Sarasota, Florida; Bob Murray (Merry Gilbert) of Columbus, Ohio; Mike Murray (Debbie) of Tampa, Florida; Peg Grauman (Gary) of Nokomis, Florida; David Murray of Indianapolis, Indiana; Katie Soule of Sarasota, Florida; and Anne Murray (Eric Bode) of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or No-Kill Cat Shelter in her name. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST.
