Edmund K. Kuehn, age 94, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 12, 2011. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 18, 1916, to the late Herman H. and Juliana Kuehn. Edmund graduated from the Columbus Art School in 1938 and won the National Competition Scholarship Award in Art. From 1938-39, he studied at the Art Student’s League in New York City. He served our country in the US Air Force from 1943-46. Edmund served as Curator, Assistant Director, and Director of the Columbus Museum of Art. He also taught at the Columbus Arts School (now CCAD), and The Ohio State University. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elsie Strasser and Hermie Kuehn. He is survived by his wife of 59 happy years, Liese Kuehn; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edmund’s name can be made to the Columbus Museum of Art, 480 E.
