Earl Smith

Earl Smith, age 94, of Circleville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born December 22, 1922 in Pickaway County, Ohio. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Container Corporation with 30 years of service. He was a Lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #3331 and AMVETS Post 2256. Earl was very handy and constantly changing something around the house. He was a very unique man and loved spending time with his family. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, William Smith and Bessie (Arledge) Scott; brothers, Dave and Donald Smith, Melvin Andrew, and Millard, Willard, John, and Curtis Scott. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Vera Mae (Ward) Smith; sons, Steve, Mark, and Bobby (Vickie) Smith; grandchildren, Belinda (Todd) Sparks, Melissa (Dennis) Tschudy, Stevie Smith, B.J. Smith, and Timothy Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ida Garrett and Betty Gubb; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, January 27, 2017 from from 6-8 p.m. at the Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 East Main St., Circleville, OH 43113 where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday.
