Dorothy was born on July 22, 1927, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Stella and William Evans. On July 10, 1948, Dorothy became the bride of John Clifford Workman, Jr. John predeceased her on December 12, 1961.
Following John's passing, Dorothy learned to drive a car and became employed at Lazarus Department Stores until she retired.
Dorothy, or Dottie as she was fondly called, enjoyed her family and friends and shared her home with her sister, Millie, until Millie passed. Dottie also loved to read her Bible and attend church at East Columbus Community Church.
Dottie was preceded in death by her elder son, Larry Workman. Also predeceasing Dottie were brother, James Evans; and sisters, Mildred Evans, Rose Hamner and Iva Poe; parents, William and Stella Evans; and grandmother, Martha Blevins.
Surviving Dorothy are her son, Robert (Steffi) Workman; daughter-in-law, Brenda Workman; grandchildren, Zachary, Chad and Benjamin (Cassie) Workman; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Collin and Teague Workman and Leah Workman; nieces and nephews, Mary Wharton, Jima Guthrie, Wayne (Tina) Hamner, Jerry (Connie) Poe, Susan (Mark) Dougherty and Mindy (Jon) Baker. Also, very special to Dottie were her many great nieces and nephews.
Dottie's special friends include, Terry and Jeanne Upperman, Brenda and Mike Hagley, and many other people who were very special to her.
Reverend Cheryl Issacs will officiate Dorothy's funeral service at Heart and Hope Funeral Home Hilltop Chapel. Burial will take place at Grove City Cemetery next to her beloved husband, John.
