

Dorothy H. (Gibboney) Gantz, age 88, of Grove City, died on Nov. 25, 2009, at Summerville at Pinnacle. She loved her family. An active member of New Horizons UMC, she was a member of the United Methodist Women and True Blue Class. She was also very active in the community as a 4-H advisor, member of the Franklin County Soil Conservation auxiliary, Southwest Historical Society, and Eastern Star. Dorothy was the eldest of nine children born to Steward and Mae (Chesser) Gibboney. Preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; sisters, Marjorie (Oliver) Conrad and Betty (Stanley) Wray; brothers, Max Gibboney, Allen Gibboney, and Donald Gibboney; brothers-in-law, Willie Schmitter and Richard Haines; and son-in-law Richard Krack. Survivors include daughters, Lois Krack of Grove City, Karen (Tom) Geyer of London, and Ruth (Larry) Gillespie of Grove City; grandchildren, Randal (Rondha) Krack, Scott (Cari) Geyer, Debi (Jimmie) Moore, Todd (Carly) Geyer, Kimberly (Ed) LeGault, Sarah (Chris) Hartfield, Christopher (Kim) Bierbaugh, and Suzanne Bierbaugh; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Steward (Norma) Gibboney; sisters, Virginia Schmitter and Martha Haines; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Gibboney, Lois A. Gibboney, and Lois C. Gibboney; and a multitude of extended family, step-grandchildren, and friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, at SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Gene Brundige officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
