Don was an enthusiastic and avid athlete throughout his life. During his early years, Don spent his time participating in sports of all kinds to include, football, basketball, billiards, track and boxing. After he graduated from high school, Don signed up with the Air Force. He played for their football, basketball and boxing teams. He competed against other armed forces teams where he acquired the Golden Gloves status in boxing. Don served in various states and in Okinawa during the Korean War. After his military service ended, Don returned home to civilian life where he met and married Lorna Rose Taylor of Larcarne, Ohio.
While married and holding down a full time job, he earned his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Bowling Green State University and graduated in 1961. Don and Lorna moved to Columbus, Ohio for a job at Lazarus Department store. After Don left Lazarus, he held several positions at various companies before settling into his career of 25 years, through the Defense Logistics Agency at the Defense Systems Automation Center in Columbus, Ohio. Here he acquired several promotions and completed his Masters of Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University in 1981.
Don and Lorna really enjoyed participating in many activities together. They competed as partners in tennis, playing competitive bridge and ballroom dancing. They also enjoyed sailing very much and cruising around the Caribbean. They even cruised across the Atlantic to visit Italy, Greece and Portugal.
With his outgoing and magnetic personality, Don had never met a stranger. He made friends easily and many of his friends became more like family. Don was also known for his outstanding photography skills and was always available to capture precious moments for friends and family.
Don was a true family man who always put the needs of his two girls before himself. Don will always be remembered as being charismatic with quick wit, full of energy and for being the guy that everyone wanted to be around.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Grayson and Helen Noble, his younger brother, Wayne Charles Noble and one of his nephews, Michael David Noble.
Don is survived by his wife of 65 years along with their daughter, Kimberly Rose Hite, his son-in-law, Dennis Kelly Hite along with many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 11 am-1 pm Friday April 21, 2023 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio, where the Celebration of Life will begin at 1 pm.
