Dianne was such a good person, and all. inclusive.  She put events together so everyone
could come and have a good time.  Many years doing the High School reunion.  Then she started doing a yearly grade school reunion.  Just a really thoughtful person.  I just found out, on DeSales web page, or I would have come to her service.  Have fun in heaven, you
sweet friend!

I got the pleasure of singing in the church choir with Dianne. I am very lucky to have met someone of her nature. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She had so much love to share and she genuinely cared about people. You couldn't help but smile and feel good around her. She will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. :heart::pray:

Who knew that when I started 4th grade at St. Matthias back in 1965 that I would meet a girl that would become my best friend for the next 56 years. That is what happened with Dianne and me. Although there were stretches during that time in which we did not see or communicate much, our friendship always remained as strong as if we had never been apart. Even in our 60’s, we would still laugh and hang out together (and have slumber parties) like we had back when we were 8 years old. More recently, we talked of trips and adventures that we would do together in our retirement. When my older sister passed last year, Dianne became the sister with whom I would grow old.   
She has been my cohort, my comfort, my adviser, and the second “aunt” to my teenage daughter … always supportive, always laughing, always there. I consider myself blessed to have spent more time with her in the last several years as they are the most special times on which now to look back.  
God gave us a gift when he gave us Dianne. Why He decided to take her back much too early we will never know except that now she has no pain. Her laughter, her appreciation for life, her kindness, and her love for others made this world a better place for those that knew her and those whom she touched … and there were many. Rest in peace my love, my sister.

Dianne was always throwing herself into life. She did not drift through life, letting the wind take her where it might.  She was full steam ahead. She participated!
She was a joiner, but also a leader. She found her calling professionally with journalism, which led her from DeSales, to her BA at Marquette University, to her Masters at Ohio State, and to 30 years at the Columbus Dispatch.
She didn't just go to church, she was part of the church, and youth ministry, and the choir.
Dianne contracted Multiple Sclerosis when she was about 20 years old and lived with it all her life. It can be painful, and cause loss of muscle coordination, and mental confusion. She had to take a shot every week that would knock her down for a full day.  She never let it define her, though. She fought through it with the same positivity that made her someone we all love.
Her positive attitude, and her desire to include everyone, and her shining eyes,and that big laugh that her brother Charlie wrote so eloquently about-- those are the things that defined her.  Those are the reasons why she has friends from 30, 40, 50, and 60 years ago.  And it's why she has friends that met her six months ago that feel like they've known her forever.
She was so proud and happy to be a mother to Matthew and Tricia. It was a great joy for her to become a grandmother. Family was everything to Dianne.
She was a fierce and loyal friend. She made friends wherever she went. She had fun. She had love. She had sunshine on her shoulders. She had a life!

I really struggle coming to terms with the fact that someone can just be gone in the blink of a eye. She was such a caring person . She constantly kept a eye on me and my health . She cared so much . But that’s the kind of person Dianne was . She loved everyone . She will be missed by so many . And I send prayers to her family

Dianne and I met in college, taking a marriage class, which as I recall, fulfilled a theology class requirement we had because we were both Catholics at a Catholic university (Marquette University). At that point we couldn’t have been more different. I was prim, proper, date I say, a bit prissy, even wore dresses to class! Dianne wore jeans and plaid flannel shirts. But somehow we teamed up to complete an assignment that involved creating our ideal wedding and honeymoon. Talk about learning the art of compromise! I wanted Hawaii, she wanted to go camping. She loved John Denver, I couldn’t stand to listen to him. But out of that one fateful event, we became friends for life. We shared so many good, funny, joyous times as well as some tough, sad and tragic times. Each life event deepened our love for each other and each other’s families. We both were single working moms for most of our kids’ lives and shared so many triumphs and trials through that time. Dianne was a bright, beautiful light in my life and in so many lives. Never would I think she would leave this world so soon. God truly called an angel back to heaven. And while my heart is heavy with sorrow and grief, I’m at least comforted to know she has no more pain, no more MS, no more worries. I will forever love her and miss her. Make sure to stir things up, up there, Dianne, and laugh to your heart’s content!! :heart::heart:

Years ago, Dianne traveled with our travel agency, Twin Horizons Travel. She was dealing with MS by then. As we planned her vacations, we learned that she was a talented calligrapher. My identical twin sister and I commissioned her to design and write the script for a poem for our parents' anniversary. 

She did a beautiful job, even found an ornate silver frame for her artwork and the poem, I Still Love You".

Mom and Dad have both passed away now, as has my twin, but our two younger brothers and I still have that extraordinarily lovely framed poem. What a gracious, everlasting, gift.

I recall how Dianne managed her MS so well. Some of her coping skills I have shared with my aunt who was recently diagnosed with MS. How she shared with us her joy when she awoke to a good day, and what she did when confronted with a not so good day.

Dianne's lovely spirit lives on.

Dianne possessed a gentle, caring and compassionate soul that we should all aspire to have.  Her deep love of her faith, her family and friends was a model for all of us.  The Saint Matthias Parish and Saint Francis DeSales High School communities were enriched by her presence and she will be sorely missed.

May all who mourn her loss find warmth through Christ's love.  Eternal rest be granted to her O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon her.
