Dianna wore many hats over the years while raising her two sons, Eddie Lee and Kellen Joel (Holly) Murphy, but her favorite (only second to mother) was helping people. She cared for folks in several Central Ohio nursing homes before landing a job at St. Ann's Hospital. Always thirsting for knowledge, Dianna learned phlebotomy and various other skills at St. Ann's, quickly becoming a multi-skilled technician.
She worked third shift so that she could balance nursing school, work, and caring for her children. An injury near the end of nursing school cut Dianna's dream short though, leaving her with physical limitations that prevented her from being able to carry out direct patient care. Not one to ever be held back, Dianna used the vast knowledge she learned in nursing school to become an excellent unit coordinator, simply finding a different way to help her patients.
In her retirement, Dianna's life centered around family, especially her twin granddaughters, Hope Kathryn and Lily Beth. Columbus Grandma, as the twins liked to call her, enjoyed spoiling Hope and Lily to no end, especially at Christmas. Dianna was a great lover of all animals (especially dogs), so her family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory instead donate to the Franklin County Dog Shelter (https://dogs.franklincountyohio.gov/).
