Diane M. Bayer, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Diane was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 16, 1931 to the late Michael and Anna (Heinz) Fleischer. Also preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Bayer; daughter Marilyn Bayer; grandson Jordan Bayer; and sister Mary Fleischer. Diane was a graduate of St. Mary High School in German Village. She was a homemaker initially and then became a business owner of Home Care Inc., a family business started by her late husband, Robert. She was a member of St. Agatha Church for over 60 years. Diane was deeply devoted to her faith and a strong believer of the power of prayer as she knew which saints to pray to for any specific request. She was loving and compassionate and always thinking of others. Diane had a tenacious character and overcame many health challenges over the past 2 years which amazed her family and medical staff. As she was very independent, Diane was a free spirit in nature. She loved to visit any beach, family vacations were usually to Lake Erie or Myrtle Beach. Diane also enjoyed any kind of craft, such as sewing and painting. She was an avid gardener and roses were her favorite. Diane will be deeply missed by her loving children Steven (Elizabeth) Bayer, Christine (David) Lowe, Patrick Bayer, and David (Shannon) Bayer; grandchildren Aidan (Taylor), Desmond, and Nora Bayer, Nathan, Zach, and Andrea Lowe, Sam (Brooklyn), Joshua, Annamarie, and Rachel Bayer; great-granddaughter Quinn Bayer; sister Janice Thum; and brothers Mickey and Jim Fleischer; along with many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at St. Agatha Church, 1860 Northam Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, where family will receive friends one hour prior up until the time of service.
