Debra L. McClendon

Debra Lynn McDougald-McClendon was born in Urbancrest, Ohio on January 10, 1965, to Otis and Margaret Anne McDougald. She gained her wings on September 14, 2022. She accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the early age of 12 and was baptized in 1977. Debbie attended Southwestern and Columbus City Schools where she attended East High School and participated on the drill team and flag corp. Debbie married the love of her life Marvin (Keith) McClendon and they were married for 13 years, but were together for over 20 years. Debbie adored her fur babies Prince, Cookie and Rosko.

Debbie really loved her family. She held a special place in her heart for her niece Ashtyn, nephews Caidyne and Jaidyn Ward. Family was everything to Debbie and she was the epitome of friendship for those who were fortunate to know her. You were also a part of her family as Debbie knew no stranger. Debbie was very passionate about traveling, cooking, dancing, reading, swimming, and gardening.

Debbie looked forward to the Cincinnati Jazz and Rib Fest every year that she and her running buddy, best friend, cousin/sister Lisa Burgess would attend. They were referred to as Lavern and Shirley. Debbie loved the holidays and Christmas was her favorite! She made sure and went out of her way to see that all the kids were taken care of.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Otis and Margaret Anne McDougald, son Chad DAnthony Wilson, and brother Gregory McDougald.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memory husband Marvin (Keith) McClendon, brothers Ronald (Vivian) McDougald, Kevin McDougald, sister Lois McDougald, step-daughter LaTasha McClendon, brother-in-law Ronald McClendon, sister-in-law Margaret McDougald, Aunt Patty Turner, Aunt Hilda Gard Turner, nephew Dartanion (Yetta), Dajuan (Nycoya), Derron Stirtmire, niece Qianna Stirtmire, Kevin Jr (Austin) McDougald, Robbi (Cara) McDougald, Katie (Brandon), LaToya Peeks, Monique, China, LaMarr and a host of great nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Special friend Darlene Farmer and godson Travon.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 23, 2022 from 10:30AM to 11:30AM at the Cornerstone Pentecostal Church, 2143 Joyce Ave, Columbus, OH 43219 with the funeral service starting at 11:30AM. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
