Dean L. Poling, 64, of Circleville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. He was born January 15, 1948 in Circleville, the son of the late Lester and Maxine (Valentine) Poling. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Elaine (Judy) Poling; son, Kyle L. Poling of Cleveland; several cousins and sisters- and brothers-in-law. Dean was a 1966 graduate of Logan Elm High School and had served in the Air National Guard. He was a member of St. John’s Church in Stoutsville. Dean and Elaine still resided on the farm purchased by his parents in 1958, where they once raised cattle and hogs before transitioning to crops only. Dean had also worked at Elsea’s Home Center, the Citizens Bank in Ashville and Commercial Point and in the lawn and garden departments at Lowes, Sutherlands and Home Depot. He served for 30 + years on the Pickaway Twp. Zoning Board and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He had enjoyed singing with the Minor Chords some years ago and traveling to Pigeon Forge with his family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2012 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Elswick officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville. Friends may
