David Porter, age 89, of Grove City, OH passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2012. He was born April 14, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to the late James Larkin and Mary Eveline (Mace) Porter. David was a retired truck driver. He believed that there was no such thing as a bad day of fishing and enjoyed watching Westerns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Porter; brothers, Floyd (Vi), Larkin, Oscar (Wanda) Porter, Jimmy (Lois) Porter; sisters, Mary Katherine “Skip” (Ray) Thompson, Martha Lee (Chuck) Razey and Ruthie (Marvin) Stults; brother in law, Chuck Champion. He was the proud father of seven children: daughter, Darlene (Joe) Petry and sons, Danny (Kim), James David (Judy), Floyd, Donnie (Debbie), Douglas and Darryl (Susie) Porter; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Porter and sister, Ann Champion; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Family will receive friends 5-8pm Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 where services will be held at 1pm Friday, October 5th; interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
