David Bradford Dunkel, 57, of Utica died on April 15th at his home. He was born on September 17 , 1954 in Columbus to Beverley (Prentiss) and Richard Ennes Dunkel. In addition to his parents, he is survived by beloved wife of 26 years, Dr. Christine Adamcak-Dunkel, his son, Sean William Dunkel, brother Richard Prentiss (Nancy) Dunkel, nephews Ryan and Jordan Dunkel, an aunt Ann Prentiss and companion, Tony Chiriaco, cousins Jane Dunkel (Mark) Warren and Evelyn Garey (Rick) Heilbrunn, sisters-in- law Michele, Patricia and Alexandra mother and father- in- law, William and Elvira Adamcak, and many close friends.
A 1973 graduate of Upper Arlington High School, David received his Bachelors of Arts from Franklin University. He’s been involved in urban planning since high school and generated his own company, Dunkel Company, Realtors, in 1985 and continued his work there until his death.
David and Christine sponsored foster children through the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (CFCA) and in 2010 traveled to Guatemala and met the children. It was a life changing experience for the entire family.
David’s interests were many and varied, and included traveling, horseback riding, scuba diving, boating, reading, and music.
Visitation will be at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 1740 Zollinger Rd. in Upper Arlington from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 20th. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Nativity , 126 North Main Street, Utica OH 43080. Father Stephen A. Metzger will be the Celebrant. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
