David M. Brooks

David Michael Thomas Brooks, 49, of New Albany, OH passed away September 30, 2020 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Oh. He was surrounded by his family as he took his last breath. He was born February 12, 1971 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late David Brown Brooks and Sally Thomas Brooks who survives. He married the former Suzanne Piecuch Brooks on June 28, 2008.

A Warren G Harding alum, he later attended Kent State University Trumbull Branch where he received an associates degree. Dave was employed as an I.T. System Manager for the US Gov't Dept. of Defense for 8years and previously served his community as a police officer.

Dave enjoyed going to the shooting range, playing euchre, mastering video games, traveling to Las Vegas, watching football at any level and most importantly, his family. Dave never met an animal he didn't love. He was kind to everyone earning the nickname "gentle giant".

Dave is survived by his mother, Sally Thomas Brooks of Warren, Ohio, wife, Suzanne Piecuch Brooks of New Albany, OH, sister, Melanie Brooks-Sabol of Warren, Ohio, niece, Madison Sabol, nephew, Scott Sabol, Jr., and uncle, Mark (Pam) Thomas of Warren, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, David Brown Brooks.

Friends may call at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Gahanna on Tuesday, October 6th from 4-7 pm. A private service will immediately follow and all are welcome to join via webcast (either from home or from their vehicle in the parking lot). Candles will be provided to all on location.

Additional services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, Warren, Ohio, where Rev. Kimberly Ford will officiate. Friends may call from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday October 8, 2020 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

The use of face masks and social distancing will be observed.
